“Supergirl” star Chris Wood would like to see more interactions between his character, Mon-El, and Mehcad Brooks’ James in Season 3 of the CW series.

“I never really got to work with Mechad much!” Wood said (via Comic Book Resources) at the San Diego Comic-Con last month. “James and Mon-El have very few interactions and it started very rocky. Obviously, James is totally cool with the fact that the thing with Kara (Melissa Benoist) didn’t work out, that she’s happy with him. [So] I’d like to see, with the new season, maybe some of that get fleshed out more, and see what that either friendship or rivalry or what that is.”

But will Mon-El ever find his way back to Earth? In the Season 2 finale, Team Supergirl saved the Earth from the looming Daxamite invasion by dispensing low levels of lead into the atmosphere. Unfortunately, the move made the planet uninhabitable for all Daxamites, including Mon-El. So before the lead could kill him, Mon-El was forced to jump in his pod and escape Earth, leaving Kara and his friends behind.

Mon-El’s whereabouts in Season 3 is being kept under wraps, but executive producer Andrew Kreisberg said (via TV Insider) last month that “astute comic book fans may have a semi-good guess as to where Mon-El went.”

Wood has also been tight-lipped about his character’s Season 3 location, but the actor said (via Hidden Remote) at Comic-Con that when viewers “do find out what actually happened to Mon-El, where he ends up going and what happens next, it’s going to be pretty satisfying.”

“I think it brings some really exciting new areas to the show,” Wood teased. “I think the fans will be really excited.”

As for what’s in store for James in Season 3, Brooks revealed (via Hidden Remote) at Comic-Con that a new love interest for his character will be introduced in the upcoming season. When pressed about James’ new love interest, Brooks refused to share more details. The actor, however, did reveal that he’s looking forward to more bromance between James and Winn (Jeremy Jordan) when the show returns.

“Supergirl” Season 3 premieres on Monday, Oct. 9 at 8 p.m. EDT on The CW.
