In episode 12, Mary asks for Dean, Sam and Castiel's help on a case. “Supernatural” Season 12 airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. EST on The CW. The CW

It’s hard to top off “Supernatural” Season 12, episode 11. Dean’s (Jensen Ackles) memory loss resulted in one of the best episodes of the current season. Next week, the focus moves from the eldest Winchester brother to Castiel (Misha Collins).

According to the episode description, Dean and Sam’s (Jared Padalecki) mother Mary (Samantha Smith) will ask her sons and their angel best friend to help her on a case. Unfortunately, she fails to mention to the trio that the British Men of Letters are involved. As always, the supernatural hunting organization double crosses Mary and soon everything about them will be revealed.

However, the promo of the upcoming episode, titled “Stuck In The Middle (With You),” paints a different picture. In the video, which you can play below, a bloodied, bruised and heavily injured Cas is seen dragging his body. Then he says, “Please, please don’t let my last moments be spent watching you die. Just run.” Castiel looks worse for wear when he asks the hunters to leave. We also see shots of Mary and her boys fighting a slew of bad guys.

This won’t be the only Castiel-centric episode this season. Episode 19 is also supposed to focus on the fallen angel. “Supernatural” showrunner Andrew Dabb told TVLine, “Particularly getting close to the end of the season, things heat up dramatically for Cas. The pursuit of Kelly and her spawn turns into a transformative experience for Castiel, and that is meant with every possible type of entendre. We’re going to see a new iteration of Cas coming up.”

Episode 12 will introduce some long-forgotten Lucifer lore now that his child is on Earth, according to a report by Entertainment Weekly. The devil may not walk on Earth but his presence will definitely be felt in future episodes.

While it looks like Cas might die in next week’s episode (remember Billie The Reaper’s warning of “cosmic consequences”?), Collins has shot several episodes in Season 12.

“Supernatural” Season 12 airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. EST on The CW.
