Oscar-winning actress Tatum O'Neal was placed on psychiatric hold last month after she allegedly threatened to kill herself, a report said.

TMZ reported, citing unnamed law enforcement sources, that emergency service personnel were called to a Los Angeles home in September following calls about a suicidal woman who threatened to jump off the balcony.

The “Paper Moon” actress, 56, was transported to a local hospital and was held for further evaluation, the outlet reported.

Further details about the incident have not been revealed. Her representatives have yet to comment on TMZ’s report.

O'Neal has battled substance abuse since she was a teen. But she reportedly kicked her drug habit following an arrest in 2008 for cocaine possession.

Reports of O’Neal’s alleged suicide attempt come just weeks after the actress reconciled with her previously-estranged father, actor Ryan O’Neal. The father and daughter had a volatile relationship and had a falling out that lasted for more than two decades.

O’Neal detailed their fractured relationship in her 2004 autobiography, “A Paper Life.”

However, the death of Ryan’s ex, Farrah Fawcett, in 2009 brought them together.

“She brought us back together,” the Academy Award winner said in 2010, People reported. “He told me he’s sorry. He’s all I have in terms of family, and I needed him in my life. My dad was absolutely everything to me.”

Their attempts to repair their relationship was featured in Oprah Winfrey Network’s 2011 series, “Ryan and Tatum: The O'Neals.”

O’Neal recently met her father with her three adult children, and the meeting was documented by her son Sean on Instagram.

“This is one of the most memorable photos of my life,” he wrote. “The last time we were all together was at the 30-year Paper Moon Anniversary in 2003. I could cry tears of gratitude that everyone in this photo is still alive and that we were all able to come together again after so many years of hardship.”

O’Neal was married to tennis icon John McEnroe from 1986 to 1994 and shares three children with him. In 2015, she made headlines when she revealed she has started dating women.

“In the physical sense, I'm not attracted to men right now at all,” she told Harper’s Bazaar at the time. “I had experiences with women prior to my marriage, and I had experiences after the divorce. But because I was raised in such a tough, masculine, male-oriented environment, it just didn't even seem possible to date women seriously until I hit the determining age of half a century, which is when you figure out what you like and what you don't—or at least I did.”
