Taylor Swift is one of the many celebrities who has been encouraging people to go out and vote for change in the upcoming U.S. presidential election. The songstress shared some details on how she feels about voting and why she will be voting for Joe Biden in the election that will take place on Nov. 3.

The musician took to Twitter to reveal her cover for V Magazine’s “The Thought Leaders Issue” and discussed why Biden is the best man to lead the nation. Alongside the cover, the “Folklore” hitmaker also uploaded a photo of herself holding a big plate of cookies in her hand.

The cookies had “Vote For Biden” written all over them. Swift noted that she supported Senator Kamala Harris (D-calif.) in the recently concluded vice-presidential debate between Harris and Mike Pence.

“I spoke to @vmagazine about why I’ll be voting for Joe Biden for president. So apt that it’s come out on the night of the VP debate. Gonna be watching and supporting @KamalaHarris by yelling at the TV a lot. And I also have custom cookies,” Swift wrote on Twitter.

Harris thanked Swift for supporting her wholeheartedly and also asked for the cookie recipe in a tweet.

“Voting never goes out of style. Thank you so much for your support, Taylor. P.S. Please share your cookie recipe,” Harris wrote on Twitter.

Meanwhile, the acclaimed singer told the publication the country needs a president who could make the people of color feel “safe.” She also mentioned that the U.S. should elect a president who is going to hear the voices of women and acknowledge the LGBTQIA+ community.

“The change we need most is to elect a president who recognizes that people of color deserve to feel safe and represented, that women deserve the right to choose what happens to their bodies, and that the LGBTQIA+ community deserves to be acknowledged and included,” V Magazine quoted Swift, as saying.

The 10-time Grammy-winning artist took a dig at President Donald Trump and his government’s response to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic by saying that the people deserve a government that “takes global health risks seriously.”

“The only way we can begin to make things better is to choose leaders who are willing to face these issues and find ways to work through them,” Swift told the publication.

She concluded the interview by saying that she would “proudly” vote for Biden and Harris in the upcoming election.

“I will proudly vote for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris in this year’s presidential election. Under their leadership, I believe America has a chance to start the healing process it so desperately needs,” Swift said.

The singer is currently riding high on the success of her latest album “Folklore” that has broken several records on the Billboard charts. Swift recently surpassed Whitney Houston’s longstanding record for the most number of weeks at the top of the chart.

Swift has now spent 47 weeks at no. 1 across all her chart-topping albums, Billboard reported. The “Cardigan” hitmaker beat Houston, who had a total of 46 weeks at the top of Billboard 200.
