‘Teen Mom’ Amber Portwood Calls Second Pregnancy ‘A Good Thing’

Amber Portwood has officially confirmed she is pregnant with her second child, though the “Teen Mom OG” star admits the baby news came as a shock to her and boyfriend Andrew Glennon.

“When I first found out, I was a little scared. I just kind of sat down and thought about it and realized that it was a big step in my life and it was a good thing actually,” the MTV personality told Us Weekly on Friday.

The 27-year-old reality TV star added that after “30 minutes” of learning she was pregnant, she was “really happy.”

Andrew, who Amber has been seeing since the summer, is also reportedly thrilled with the baby news. “We’re both very happy,” Amber said. “After the initial shock, it was nothing but happy thoughts and just enjoying my time with my boyfriend.”

A source tells E! Online that Amber, who shares 8-year-old daughter Leah with ex Gary Shirley, and Andrew are “excited about their future together.”

The pregnancy news comes just over two months after Amber first gushed about her lighting technician beau. “I think we just kind of fell into this groove of really enjoying life with each other for a while, so it’s kind of fun and it’s kind of serious in a way as well, but we’re trying not to put too much pressure on a relationship,” Amber told Us Weekly of her newfound relationship in August.

Outlets starting reporting on Wednesday that Amber was expecting again, though the “Teen Mom” original star wasn’t quick to confirm the pregnancy.

The Ashley’s Reality Roundup, which is known to have scoop on the franchise’s stars, reported that crew members of the MTV show were privy to Amber’s baby news since her trip to Hawaii with Andrew in September. The site reports that Amber’s pregnancy also caused her to miss out on filming recent “Teen Mom” specials.

“The official word told to everyone was that she didn’t come because she was sick,” a source told the site. “But basically everyone knew it was morning sickness. She’s been having a hard time so far, but Amber is totally thrilled about the pregnancy.”
