A new featurette linked to “Terminator Genisys” has been released. It features Arnold Schwarzenegger and Emilia Clarke as they talk about the bond their characters share in the film. The two will share a father-daughter-like relationship.

“Skynet will send someone to kill Sarah Connor’s parents, and the person who will come to her rescue is Guardian,” says Clarke. According to Schwarzenegger, “Guardian is pretty much glued to her, 24 X 7, basically to make sure there is no surprise attack.”

Clarke also adds that though her character, Connor, and Guardian (Schwarzenegger) will share a close relationship, nothing more should be expected as Guardian is not a human but a cyborg.

Snippets from film’s trailer also appear in the featurette, and it ends with Schwarzenegger saying, “people can expect great entertainment.”

“Terminator Genisys” opens July 1. It concerns John Connor (Jason Clarke), who sends his trusted lieutenant Kyle Reese (Jai Courtney) back in time to save his mother Sarah and to ensure his own existence. When Reese goes back in time, he finds that the past has been changed and T-800 sent to kill Sarah has already been taken care of. Now Sarah, Reese and old ally Terminator should fight to save themselves from new T-800, T-1000 and T-3000.

Directed by Alan Taylor, the film is set in 2029. David Ellison and Dana Goldberg are the producers, and the story is by Laeta Kalogridis and Patrick Lussier, based on the characters created by James Cameron and Gale Anne Hurd. Lorne Balfe wrote the music and Karmer Morgenthau shot the cinematography. The cast also includes Lee Byung-hun, Matt Smith and J.K. Simmons. Besides opening in regular theaters, the film will be shown in 3D, Real 3D and IMAX 3D.
