Every so often a story circulates about a celebrity fan who spends an exorbitant amount of money on plastic surgery to look like their favorite star or starlet. What better way is there to emulate the beautiful demigods of Hollywood than by carving our noses, chins and lips to mirror theirs?

The latest "make-me-look-like-a-celebrity" story comes from Houston, Texas, where a woman identified only as Kitty spent $25,000 on plastic surgery to look more like “American Hustle” actress Jennifer Lawrence.

"I'm not trying to look like Pamela Anderson here during her 'Baywatch' days," Kitty told ABC News’ Nightline. "I'm trying to look like a very capable, very personal, level-headed female who is an Academy Award winner."

Although Kitty has been told by friends before that she resembles the young actress, the 30-year-old dog trainer and mother of one paid for six plastic surgery procedures to get the “more refined” features of J-Law. Kitty’s surgeries included liposuction to her face and body, a breast augmentation, a nose job and fat grafts to her cheeks and buttocks.

Kitty went under the knife in February and spent four weeks recovering, according to the New York Daily News.

"The reason why I decided to get surgery is because post having my daughter, I wasn't quite as comfortable with my body," she told Nightline. "I don't think you have to be crazy to want to look better or feel better about yourself. That's not crazy."

After her recovery, Kitty said she was pleased with the results.

"Of course I look like Jennifer Lawrence," she said. "I thought I had a resemblance to Jennifer Lawrence before my surgery and now I think after, my features are more refined to where they resemble her more.”

Kitty is far from being the first celebrity look-alike to go under the knife. And her $25,000 bill is hardly the largest. In Oct. 2013, Los Angeles songwriter Toby Sheldon shelled out $100,000 on plastic surgery to look like Justin Bieber.

The 33-year-old said he was in his late 20s when he saw his youth fading. He had several surgeries, including hair transplants and smile surgery, in which the corners of his mouth were extended (ouch!), to get the youthful look of the Biebs.

To quote from Hannibal Lecter, “We begin by coveting what we see every day.”
