Tim Tebow might be on his way to the New York, but not if Jets cornerback Antonio Cromartie has anything to say about it.

We don't need Tebow. We sell out every home game let him go to Jacksonville Tampa or Miami. Our wildcat offense can b ran by J. Kerley or Joe McKnight we straight, Cromartie tweeted on Tuesday as rumors of Tebow to the Jets began to swirl.

Cutting through the difficult syntax, Cromartie doesn't think the Jets need any of the Tebow magic. He tweet is fairly unique however. In the age of Twitter, players are increasingly taking to social media to recruit free agents, it was only a matter of time until a player decided to go the other way.

He did soften his stance Wednesday morning, partly due to negative tweets he received from fans.

Look everyone is mad about what I said but u will b okay. I have faith in the guys that we have in the locker room right now that I will get it done this year, Cromartie tweeted.

Even if he is getting negative feedback, Cromartie may be right. Suffice it to say that the Jets locker room isn't exactly one big happy family. In the last year, players have taken anonymous shots at quarterback Mark Sanchez, calling him lazy and coddled in the New York Daily News.

This supposedly got ugly behind closed doors for the Jets, especially between Sanchez and Santonio Holmes, and the team melted down late in the season, dropping their final three games to miss out on the playoffs.

There is no official word from the team about their interest, or lack thereof, in Tebow. But it hardly seems worth it to bring another distraction into an already touchy and factional locker room.
