  • Tottenham is being linked to a move for West Ham striker Jarrod Bowen
  • West Ham might not “do business” with Tottenham, despite the apparent interest
  • Hammers boss David Moyes suggests that the 24-year-old is likely to stay

With Harry Kane seemingly still fazed, Tottenham may have set its sights on a promising striker.

Many have linked Tottenham’s struggles this season to the stigma of Kane’s tumultuous summer.

While the English national team captain has yet to find his rhythm, rumors swirled that the Spurs are once again searching for a formidable striker.

Among the forwards believed to be on Tottenham’s radar is West Ham United’s Jarrod Bowen.

Speaking to Football Insider, Tottenham insider and Lilywhite Rose’s John Wenham revealed that Bowen’s name has popped out recently, but it appears that a transfer is unlikely to happen at the moment.

According to Wenham, if ever West Ham decides to sell Bowen, the Hammers are likely to demand “more than” the amount of his transfer from Hull.

Moreover, Wenham said that Tottenham and West Ham have never and will never “do business.”

International Business Times could not independently verify this information.

“West Ham spent £18 million ($24 million) on him and would obviously look for a lot more than that to sell him,” Wenham explained. “Tottenham and West Ham don’t do business. There is no love lost between the two clubs at the boardroom level.

“I don’t see West Ham entertaining any bids for Bowen from Tottenham, that one is a non-starter,” he continued.“Tottenham may be interested in him but some clubs just don’t do business. I would categorically rule that one out now.”

“Even if West Ham said he was available they would turn down an approach from Tottenham. From what I’ve heard from people I know in the industry, I just can’t see that one happening.”

In line with Wenham’s statement, both Tottenham and West Ham have yet to comment about Bowen’s possible transfer.

However, West Ham manager David Moyes had recently raved about Bowen’s versatility, suggesting the 24-year-old will be staying in his squad.

“I always thought Jarrod Bowen was capable of playing in the No. 9 and given a chance to play the role, I thought he’d be good at it,” Moyes told West Ham’s official website. “He plays other positions for us as well, but he’s such a really good boy to work with. He’s happy to play everywhere, wants to play, wants the games and he’s been improving for us since we signed him.”

“He deserves all the plaudits he gets because the other night he really showed that he’s versatile: that he can play as a forward, or he can play as a wide player as well."
