  • Marco Asensio is hotly pursued by multiple teams
  • Borussia Dortmund is believed to be in the lead to sign the Spaniard
  • Liverpool is seen as a potential landing spot for Asensio

Real Madrid is reportedly ready to part ways with Marco Asensio.

But this early, Arsenal and Liverpool are believed to be leading the pack to acquire the services of the 25-year-old winger--per the report of El Nacional.

With AC Milan and Juventus lurking alongside the aforementioned clubs, Borussia Dortmund may overtake them to get the signature of the Spanish midfielder.

There is the growing belief that Los Blancos may end up selling Asensio since he is unable to blend in with the system of Carlo Ancelotti.

In the current season, Asensio has started in three of nine league games. The highlight of that run was a hat-trick against Mallorca, the same team he last played before signing a £3.9 million ($5.3 million) deal in 2014.

Despite the rollercoaster ride, Asensio is a UEFA Champions League winner and also scored for Los Blancos in last year’s quarterfinal match against Liverpool.

But like many players, Asensio has had to deal with injuries that have hampered his run.

Despite the word that Borussia Dortmund is in pole position to enlist him, Arsenal and Liverpool may turn it up moving forward.

The Gunners are looking for more fixtures to hone up its midfield, while the Reds are likely plugging holes with Naby Keita sitting on the sidelines due to injury.

Furthermore, Gini Wijnaldum is on the way out and set to join Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer.

Aside from that, Asensio could cover from out wide with Mo Salah and Sadio Mane likely jetting off by the winter.

Liverpool is also in the Champions League, something that could boost the Reds' chances of getting him for potentially £34 million ($46 million), El Nacional reported.
