Manchester United may have to deal with the fact that one of the promising young players from their academy may be as good as gone.

Despite efforts to offer him a potential contract extension, it appears that Martin Svidersky is bent on leaving Old Trafford.

The 19-year-old has reportedly turned down several contract extensions, and it appears he will be one of the interesting free agents other teams may consider taking in--per the report of Stretty News.

According to several reports, Svidersky is in the final year of his contract.

Considering the Slovakian footballer has been making big strides since coming over in 2018 from Tatran Presov, it is hardly surprising the multiple teams are closely monitoring the situation.

Among the teams linked to Svidersky include Atalanta, Napoli, Eintracht Frankfurt and Hoffenheim.

The teenage sensation has been astounding for the Red Devils and is a key player for the Under-23 squad.

Moreover, he is one of the starting regulars. 12 of his 13 appearances this season have come as a holding midfielder, while the other is at center back--per US Sun's report.

Hence, it appears that Svidersky wants assurance that he will be part of the first team of a football powerhouse. That chance may be waiting in Italy or Germany.

So far, Red Devils manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has given ten academy players the chance to show what they are capable of.

Of those players, only Mason Greenwood has stood out, amassing 33 goals in 117 games. He just turned 20 last month and is a player that is expected to develop further.

Aside from Greenwood, the other players who made their senior debut include Brandon Williams and Anthony Elanga.

Further dampening the possibility of seeing Svidersky get a first-team spot are reports that the Red Devils have their eye on James McAtee of Manchester City.

However, the Red Devils may have their hands full since Liverpool is reportedly also interested in the Sky Blues youngster.

McAtee’s contract with the Citizens expires in the summer of 2023. But it appears he wants to take his chances elsewhere and has yet to sign an extension–somehow placing him in the same predicament with that of Svidersky.
