European football fans are eagerly waiting for their favorite squads’ next moves as the international break is upon them, and Manchester United is among those planning ahead.

News from Germany reports that Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland is believed to be looking at a move away from the club in search of more competition.

Haaland has been linked to a move to Bayern Munich, but the German club’s former CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge thinks “it will be difficult” to entice Haaland to stay in the Deutschland.

The Norwegian striker’s most recent exploits with Borussia Dortmund have led many to claim that he is the most talented striker of the new generation of soccer players.

Scoring 43 goals in 46 appearances certainly helps his case.

Speaking with German outlet Sport Bild, Rummenigge said that it will be next to impossible to keep Haaland away from England.

“He has become an absolute figurehead in the league. But I'm afraid he won't be staying in the Bundesliga. The numbers that are circulating show that it's difficult to keep him in Germany. I assume that his future lies abroad," Rummenigge shared.

This is perfect for Manchester United as they are among the international clubs that have been pining for Haaland’s signature, including Chelsea, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain.

The Red Devils have been in pursuit of Haaland since the 2019-20 transfer window, but the Norwegian opted to sign with Borussia Dortmund then.

Their interest in him has not waned, and it will only continue to grow stronger in the coming months leading up to the 2022 summer transfer window.

The 21-year-old still has three years left on his contract with Borussia Dortmund, but he does have a release clause worth €75 million ($87 million) that will become active by then.

Manchester United will face stiff competition for Haaland, especially after Manchester City and Real Madrid whiffed on their transfer targets, but the belief is that they can sway him over to Old Trafford.

Should they do so next summer, the Red Devils’ offense will consist of Haaland’s former Borussia Dortmund teammate Jadon Sancho, Mason Greenwood and Ronaldo.
