KEY POINTS

  • James Garner has multiple loan options this summer
  • Garner could vie for a spot at Old Trafford if he chooses
  • Nottingham Forest could still recall Garner if other teams fall short of pursuit

James Garner is more likely to be loaned out again this transfer window, and his agent reveals that multiple teams are interested.

He is coming off a loan spell from Nottingham Forest Football Club, and initially, it seemed he would be returning to City Ground.

However, it appears the Tricky Trees will have to taper their expectations. According to Garner’s agent, Norwich City, Brighton & Hove Albion and Rangers are among the teams interested in getting the 20-year-old to their side, Nottinghamshire Live reported.

With no clarity on whether the Red Devils could put him to use, Manchester United is reportedly open to another loan move for Garner.

With Manchester United, the English footballer has had only seven appearances to date.

The first came in 2018 when he traveled with the team for a preseason match in the United States. He was also named to the Red Devils’ final Champions League group stage match against Valencia but was unused.

In those seven appearances, the 20-year-old found the net eight times for the club’s under-23 side.

He was loaned out to Watford last summer and figured prominently. However, the firing of Vladimir Ivic changed everything.

Xisco Munoz took over, and his playing time dipped to just 40 minutes. The loan deal was eventually terminated by the Red Devils and the Hornets.

Garner found himself loaned out anew, this time to Nottingham Forest for the rest of the season.

Although there is growing interest in the midfielder’s services, Garner still has a chance to crack a spot in the regular lineup.

It is an option for the English footballer although he may have to work to earn one.

Pundits feel it may be better for Garner to consider playing outside Old Trafford and the choices are plenty.

The only problem now is which among the mentioned clubs can pitch the best offer.

However, there was no mention if the Red Devils would be open to including a permanent sale.
