Tristan Thompson is officially a citizen of the United States.

The basketball player and baby daddy to Khloé Kardashian was born in Canada and was just sworn in as a U.S. citizen before Thanksgiving Day.

The USCIS Media- Western Regions Twitter account posted the 29-year-old getting sworn in with his right hand in the air, right next to an American flag.

Many users congratulated the newest citizen.

Others were confused about how he received his citizenship so fast and wondered if it was because he’s a celebrity.

This exciting ceremony also just came days after his signing deal with the Boston Celtics. He signed a two-year, $19 million deal, according to E!.

While Khloe doesn’t plan on joining him at his new home in Boston, she does explain that she’s supportive of his career choices. It seems like the rest of the Kardashian family is as well, as Kim and Rob Kardashian congratulated Tristan on their social media stories.

Tristan hasn’t posted anything on Instagram or Twitter stating this good news of citizenship, nor has Khloé.
