Adria Arjona is excited for her new movie project!

Shortly after Deadline broke the news that Legendary Pictures has closed a deal with Arjona to join the cast of “Pacific Rim 2,” the 24-year-old actress took to her Instagram page to express her excitement about landing a role in the highly anticipated sequel.

“So happy I can finally share this exciting news. Could not be more excited and grateful for this opportunity. 'Pacific Rim II' here we go!” the “Emerald City” actress wrote on the social networking site, alongside a screenshot of the Deadline story.

Arjona, who starred as Emily in Season 2 of HBO’s crime drama “True Detective,” joins previously announced “Pacific Rim 2” cast members John Boyega, Cailee Spaeny, Jing Tian, Scott Eastwood and Levi Meaden.

“Pacific Rim 2” director Steven DeKnight confirmed the news of Arjona’s casting on Twitter. “Can finally announce @adriaarjonaa was who I was talking about from #BelkoExperiment. Welcome to the Shatterdome!” he tweeted.

Moments after confirming Arjona’s casting, DeKnight also posted three follow-up tweets confirming Tian, Eastwood and Meaden’s addition to the cast.

As revealed by Deadline last June, Boyega was cast as the lead character for the film. He will play the son of Stacker Pentecost, who was portrayed by Idris Elba in the original film directed Guillermo del Toro.

In an interview with Yahoo Movies at the San Diego Comic-Con last July, Charlie Hunnam — who played main character Raleigh Becket in the 2013 film — revealed that he won't be reprising his role in the sequel due to scheduling conflicts.

While DeKnight would not confirm whether or not fans would see any of the other original cast members, including Elba, Rinko Kikuchi and Charlie Day, in the upcoming movie, the director teased that fans can expect “Lots of crazy cool stuff” in the sequel.

“Pacific Rim 2,” which has a working title of “Pacific Rim: Maelstrom,” is slated for a Feb. 28, 2018 release.
