Building on an already false premise, a tabloid recently tried to suggest the rumored feud between actresses Jennifer Aniston and Julia Roberts was forcing Hollywood celebrities to choose sides. The latest narrative was debunked by Gossip Cop.

The less-than-authentic story was published by NW magazine which tried to cash-in on the existing rumor that the two actresses were fighting over whose upcoming TV show would be a bigger success.

The very foundation of the latest rumor was flawed as Roberts and Aniston were never really professionally competing with each other directly, given the former’s new show “Homecoming” debuts on Amazon next month while the latter’s untitled series will be aired on Apple TV next year.

Regardless of the fact that a feud between the two established female stars made no sense, NW went ahead with an equally false update on the alleged fight.

“Jen and Julia have known each other for 20 years and even worked together from time to time, but that doesn’t mean they like each other. And now that they’re in direct competition with their new TV shows, it’s gotten really tense,” an anonymous insider told the tabloid.

The source went onto claim the supposed rift between Aniston and Roberts had “become awkward for all of their mutual friends” like Nicole Kidman, Gwyneth Paltrow and Courteney Cox, who were being forced to choose sides between their girlfriends.

“If it comes to choosing sides, they’d probably be on Jen’s,” the unnamed tipster added. “Jen is always having her girlfriends over, and she’s just closer to them than Julia is.”

However, that did not mean the “Eat, Love, Pray” actress will be left without any celebrity friends to support her.

“Even though George Clooney always tries to keep the peace with everyone and considers himself a good friend to them both, his friendship with Julia is stronger and he’d be loyal to her. It would be the same case for Meryl Streep,” the source added.

“Julia and Jen are pursuing the same set of goals and are desperate for their shows to be major hits. The only people who are standing in their way are each other,” the source concluded.

Apart from the fact that Gossip Cop had reached out to the “Friends” alum’s rep, who confirmed the rumor of the feud was not true, both the actresses attended the InStyle Awards earlier this week where, according to E! the two were seen spending a lot of time together and “chatting together during the intermission.”

This proved rumors of feud between Aniston and Robert and the consequent dilemma of Hollywood celebrities having to choose sides in the fight were bogus.
