Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt are rumored to have recently gotten engaged just in time for Christmas.

NW published a story about the former couple on the cover of their magazine with the headline: “Brad & Jen: Engaged At Christmas!”

An unnamed source told the tabloid that Pitt proposed to his ex-wife with a diamond ring months after they rekindled their romance at Aniston’s 50th birthday party.

The source went on to say that it was Pitt’s 13-year-old daughter Shiloh who encouraged her dad to propose to Aniston. The teenager allegedly helped the actor choose the engagement ring.

“It was a very emotional realization for both Brad and Shiloh that he needed to let himself love again. They went shopping for a ring together. Shiloh seems excited to welcome Jen into her family,” the source said.

Unfortunately, even at first glance, it’s already easy to debunk the claims made the tabloid. Pitt and Aniston’s photo appeared on the cover of the magazine. But if the couple really got engaged recently, they would’ve taken a better picture together.

However, the tabloid simply edited Pitt and Aniston’s separate photos to make it seem as though they were photographed together. And to make the cover photo look even more dramatic, the tabloid chose a snap of the former couple seemingly looking at each other.

Pitt and Aniston also didn’t rekindle their romance after the actor attended his ex-wife's 50th birthday celebration in February. What is true is that they have become friends.

According to Entertainment Tonight, Pitt attended Aniston’s star-studded holiday party alongside their other pals Tom Hanks, Kate Hudson, Lisa Kudrow and more.

“Brad Pitt arrived at Jennifer Aniston’s holiday party a little after 7 p.m. on Saturday. He was among the first to arrive and the second to last guest to leave around 11 p.m. He was dressed casually in a dark bomber jacket with a cap on. He arrived with his longtime security guard who waited for him with his car and saw him out,” a source said.

However, there is no indication that Pitt and Aniston have officially gotten back together let alone have gotten engaged. As such, it is best to take the claims of the tabloid with a grain of salt.
