Apple has released tvOS 13.2, the latest update for the Apple TV, alongside iOS 13.2 and iPadOS 13.2. What does the latest Apple TV update bring? Here's a quick look.

Cupertino tech giant Apple has just released tvOS 13.2, which doesn't bring a lot of stuff to the Apple TV. The Apple TV maker simply said the update “includes general performance and stability improvements,” which likely means it only includes fixes and tweaks that enhance how the Apple TV performs.

tvOS 13.2, unlike its iPhone and iPad counterparts, is very light on features. The most noticeable change to the Apple TV operating system, however, is the addition of user opt-in support for sharing Siri audio recordings to Apple, which was initially seen working during the iOS 13.2 and iPadOS 13.2 beta versions.

The new feature will show itself once tvOS 13.2 is installed in an Apple TV. It will show a new intro screen that will inform users about how their conversations with Siri can be used to improve Apple's services, and will give them the freedom to choose if they want to participate or not.

Users who opt-in will have parts of some of their Siri conversations sent to Apple for evaluation. Those who don't participate in the initiative won't be penalized in one way or another; Cupertino won't force anyone to opt-in.

Apple Insider noted that users will be more likely to participate in this case as it doesn't seem to be a threat to privacy. Siri won't be able to eavesdrop on any user conversation, particularly personal or private ones, because she can only be invoked on the Apple TV by pressing a button on the Siri Remote.

This means every Siri recording sent to Apple is sent with the user's knowledge and consent. Users won't need to fear being spied on, unless the kids are playing with the remote.

The tvOS 13.2 comes before Apple officially launches the Apple TV+ subscription service on Nov. 1. Users can update their Apple TV 4K or Apple TV HD by going to Settings> System> Software Updates and selecting Software Update.

Those who use an older third-gen Apple TV can update it to tvOS 13.2 by going to Settings> General> Software Updates, clicking on Update Software, then downloading and installing the update if it's available.
