UK Property Competition The Eviction Heads to Texas as Search Begins for 12 American Contestants

A property competition created in the UK by British entrepreneur Samuel Leeds is heading to the United States for the first time, with 12 contestants being sought from across America to take part in a new series filmed in Texas.

The Eviction USA will see contestants live together for two weeks while taking on a series of property, business, negotiation, and problem-solving challenges set by Leeds.

Filming is scheduled to take place in Texas from 14 to 30 September 2026, with applications now open to people from across the United States. And despite the property theme, applicants do not need any previous real estate experience. Leeds, who has previously run The Eviction in the UK in 2020, 2022, and 2024, says he is deliberately looking for contestants from a wide range of backgrounds.

He said:

'I don't want 12 people who already know everything about property. That wouldn't be nearly as interesting.

'I want people with different careers, personalities, and life experiences. You could be a nurse, firefighter, teacher, contractor, salesperson, or someone who has never invested in real estate before.

'What I'm interested in is how people think when they're under pressure, how quickly they can learn, and what happens when you put 12 ambitious personalities together and give them problems to solve.'

A British Competition Comes to America

The original UK version of The Eviction was created as a way of testing contestants on more than their knowledge of property.

Participants have previously faced challenges involving negotiation, decision-making, teamwork, problem-solving, and business, with contestants eliminated as the competition progresses. Now Leeds is taking the format across the Atlantic for its first American edition.

The Texas series will be filmed for YouTube and will follow the contestants both during the challenges and as they live alongside each other throughout the competition.

Leeds added:

'America was always going to make The Eviction interesting because the property market is completely different from the UK.

'There are different strategies, different terminology, different rules, and a completely different culture around real estate.

'But ultimately, people are people. I want to find out who can adapt, who can take action, and who can perform when things don't go their way.'

Who Can Apply?

Applications are open to eligible people aged 18 and over from across the United States.
Previous experience in property, business, or investing is not required.

Applicants must, however, be fully available for the filming period from 14 to 30 September 2026, be comfortable appearing on camera, and be prepared to live and work alongside other contestants.

Accommodation during filming will be provided by the production, while selected contestants will be responsible for arranging and paying for their own travel to and from Texas. The casting process will take place in several stages.

Applicants begin with an initial application before selected candidates are invited to answer further questions about their personality, experience, resilience, and how they work with other people.

Those who progress further may then be invited to submit a short video audition before the final 12 contestants are chosen.

Looking Beyond the Typical Real Estate Investor

Producers say they are particularly interested in finding people who might not normally consider applying for a property competition.

Transferable skills such as staying calm under pressure, communicating with people, managing money, leading teams, solving practical problems, or negotiating could all prove useful once the competition begins.

Leeds said:

'Somebody might have no property experience whatsoever but spend every day making difficult decisions at work. Another person might run a business, work on construction sites, or manage a family budget incredibly well.

'You don't always know which skills are going to become important until the challenge starts.

'That's what makes the competition exciting.'

The first 12 contestants selected will become the inaugural cast of The Eviction USA.
