Valentine's Day is right around the corner as people buy cards, candy, and other gifts for their loved ones. Some may also be looking to express their love through music. If you're looking for some songs for a romantic date or to sit back and listen to with that special someone on Feb. 14, here are 18 love songs for you to enjoy.

1. Dashboard Confessional – "Hands Down"

Emo music has a way of tugging at the heart strings in one way or another and Dashboard Confessional was always a great example of this. Lead singer Chris Carrabba tells the story of the best date he ever had in this 2003 hit.

2. Blink-182 – "Always"

Blink-182 has spent most of their career writing about relationships, dating, and breakups. “Always” is one of their strongest love songs, which appears on their 2003 album “Blink-182.” Tom DeLonge sings about wanting to hold and kiss a loved one “always.”

3. Boyz II Men – "I’ll Make Love To You"

Set the mood on Valentine's Day with this 90's classic. "I'll Make Love You To You" was No. 1 on Billboard Hot 100 for 14 weeks between August and November in 1994 and helped the R&B group rise to be one of biggest groups of the decade.

4. Drake – "Best I Ever Had"

Drake broke into the music scene in 2009 with his love song about the best girl he ever had. Since then Drake has become one of the biggest rapper's in the game and he still continues to write the occasional love rap.

5. The Starting Line – "Best of Me"

Pop-punk is a genre notorious for songs about love and heartbreak. The Starting Line crafted one of the best pop-punk love songs with 2002’s “Best of Me.” The band also recreated the famous boombox scene from the 1989 romantic comedy “Say Anything” in the music video for the song.

6. Taylor Swift – "Love Story"

Before Swift started to write songs like “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” and “Bad Blood,” she had no problem expressing the idea of love or marriage in her music. The song “Love Story” was also one of the singer’s first singles to propel her into pop stardom.

7. Foo Fighters – "Everlong"

Who would’ve thought that one of the biggest rock bands around would write a love song to be featured in hundreds of weddings? “Everlong” is still one of the Foo Fighters’ biggest songs with a catchy chorus and powerful ending, perfect for expressing your love for your significant other.

8. Ja Rule featuring Lil' Mo and Vita – "Put It On Me"

Where would Valentine’s Day be without a little Ja Rule? The “Always on Time” rapper showed the world that “every thug needs a lady” with this single off of his 2000 album “Rule 3:36.”

9. Kings of Leon – "Use Somebody"

Tell your loved one that you can “Use Somebody” like them on this Sunday. This powerful love song by Kings of Leon helped launch the band in the U.S. The song went on to take home three Grammy awards in 2010 for Record of the Year, Best Rock Song and the Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal.

10. Barry White – "You’re The First, The Last, My Everything"

Barry White made a living off writing great love songs and “You’re The First, The Last, My Everything” was one of his most popular tracks. This funky song from the 70's features the R&B singer declaring his love for someone who means the world to him.

11. Hootie & the Blowfish – "Only Wanna Be With You"

Remind your partner that they're the only one for you with this 90s throwback song from Hootie & the Blowfish. Before singer Darius Rucker became a country music star, he was writing popular love songs with the band throughout the decade.

12. All-4-One – "I Swear"

Not to be confused with Boyz II Men, All-4-One also had a hit track in 1994 that was also a love song. Put this track on and swear to your loved "by the moon and the stars in the sky" that you'll be there for them.

13. Howie Day – "Collide"

In this 2004 hit, Howie Day sings about the ups and downs that happen in relationships, but in the end things have a way of working themselves out. This love song has made it’s way into many movies and TV shows over the years including “Scrubs,” “Smallville,” “Lost,” “Dawson’s Creek” and “Bones.”

14. Say Anything – "Alive With The Glory of Love"

“Alive With The Glory of Love” is a song about two people in love with one another during the Holocaust and having to get through it together. The song is upbeat, will likely get stuck in your head and tells a nice love story for Valentine’s Day.

15. Snoop Dogg featuring Pharrell - "Beautiful"

In 2003, Snoop Dogg and Pharrell had a surprise hit with the love song "Beautiful." The Neptunes produced the track as Pharrell sang about a beautiful girl that's also his "favorite" in the chorus.

16. The Beatles – "Eight Days A Week"

The Beatles were a band that had no problem writing about the ideas of love. In fact, if you wanted to, you can probably make an entire Valetine's Day playlist based off just their songs. For this list, "Eight Days A Week" makes the cut, which features John Lennon adding another day to the week to express how much he loves someone.

17. Death Cab for Cutie – "I Will Follow You Into The Dark"

Sometimes the best love songs can be simple with just one instrument. Death Cab For Cutie singer Ben Gibbard played "I Will Follow You Into The Dark" on acoustic guitar and sings of following a loved one into the afterlife.

18. Rihanna featuring Calvin Harris – "We Found Love"

One of Rihanna's most popular songs is one that gets across the theme of love and also makes you want to dance at the same time. Calvin Harris wrote and produced the track, which was a club anthem in 2011.
