  • "Valheim" is currently available on Steam Early Access
  • Iron Gate Studios earlier shared the game's roadmap for this year
  • Details about the new features were revealed recently

"Valheim" is currently taking Steam by storm, achieving an impressive feat within a few weeks after becoming available on Early Access. Iron Gate earlier revealed the content roadmap for the survival title but it was rather general and vague. The gaming studio's co-founder has now offered more details about what to look forward to in "Valheim" this year, which includes new mini-bosses and a new ship customization feature.

Iron Gate Studios co-founder Henrik Törnqvist, in a recent interview with PCGamer, spoke about some of the new features coming to "Valheim." The first update scheduled for this year is called Hearth and Home. It will apparently center on food preparation and the introduction of more buildings or structures. After that, the studio will roll out the Cult of the Wolf update, which focuses on exploration as well as combat additions.

The third update is reportedly called the Ships and the Sea, which, as the name implies, centers on introducing more activities in the game's currently empty ocean. It would apparently introduce the new ship customization feature in "Valheim." The last update is called Mistlands, which is a new ecosystem that will likely be launched in the game toward the end of the year.

Iron Gate intends to have a total of nine biomes in "Valheim." Each of these biomes will eventually feature a unique boss and mini-bosses. "So it will be new enemies, new items, a new boss, new resources, everything, and that's what we have planned for this year. So yeah, that's quite a big task, but we will accept the challenge, so to speak," Törnqvist told the site.

The gaming studio co-founder said a team, comprised of five developers, is currently working to fix all bugs found in the game. "Valheim" is currently on Steam Early Access and with its success, it is crucial that the developers continue to evolve the gaming experience by introducing exciting content to maintain and increase the player base.

Iron Gate has not yet revealed the dates for launching the updates.
