Ian Somerhalder and Nikki Reed are finally ready to reveal details of their top-secret wedding. The performers were married in April in a quiet ceremony in California, but they managed to keep most details under wraps. The couple has now released a few of their wedding photographs to Bride magazine, with Reed revealing some of what happened at the ceremony.

The actor in “The Vampire Diaries” television series and the actress in the “Twilight” film series invited their friends and relatives to a housewarming party that turned out to be their big day. “We didn’t want our loved ones to show up with any expectations or squeezed into formal attire,” Reed, 27, told Bride.

Somerhalder’s “Vampire Diaries” co-stars Matthew Davis, Kat Graham, Phoebe Tonkin and Paul Wesley were reportedly in attendance, but the newly released photos don’t show the wedding guests. However, the shots do capture Reed’s dress from several angles.

The lace gown was designed by Claire Pettibone, who previously revealed that Reed had no trouble picking out a dress. “Once she spotted the Elizabeth gown, it was just a matter of customizing the design for her,” Pettibone told People in May. “She knew she wanted 3/4-length sleeves, and we created an illusion neckline. Since she wasn’t going to wear a veil, I suggested adding a bit more drama to the train by adding a lace-edged tulle layer to the back of the skirt.”

Reed didn’t just customize her wedding dress. She and Somerhalder, 36, also created custom drinks. Bride reported that the soon-to-be “Sleepy Hollow” star designed a cocktail with St. Germain, pear vodka and citrus bitters, while her former finance and current husband crafted a spicy hibiscus margarita. The drinks went well with the Cajun food, tacos and red velvet cake they served.

Food was one of Reed’s main areas of focus on her wedding day. “It really was all about the food, the dancing, and the love,” she explained.

The food, dancing and love didn’t stop at the ceremony. After their big day, Reed and Somerhalder traveled around the world on their honeymoon. Their vacation spots included Brazil, Costa Rica and Mexico over the course of several weeks.
