Fans wait with bated breath to see who Ivar the Boneless (Alex Høgh Andersen) will sacrifice in “Vikings” Season 5, episode 14. While the promos of the episode continue to tease the fans of the impending doom of one major character, a previously released trailer of the season may have confirmed who will drink with the gods next.

The following article contains spoilers for “Vikings” Season 5B, episode 14.

Ivar is keen on offering a sacrifice to the gods, and this sacrifice has to be someone known and important. While fans continue to speculate on who this could be, a trailer that was released on YouTube previously appears to have given away a spoiler. The video shows that the person sacrificed is the Seer (John Kavanagh).

A promo of the next episode posted on Facebook teased an interaction between Ivar and the Seer. Ivar wants to be recognized as a god, but the Seer recognizes him only as the son of Ragnar (Travis Fimmel). Will this cause the King of Kattegat to offer the blind oracle as a sacrifice?

A report by Metro pointed out that the hints of Hvitserk (Marco Ilson) as the sacrifice in the previous episode are a little too obvious. Besides, there wouldn’t be a need for a hood if Ivar was killing his own brother. Hvitserk is a smart man. He may have packed up and left already to escape the madness of the new king of Kattegat.

Where will Hvitserk go? A good place for him would be by the side of his other brothers in Wessex, where they are in need of capable warriors to defend the country against a new Viking army.

The outcome of this war will also impact Ivar. Cartermatt noted that King Harald (Peter Franzén) wants to rule Kattegat, and he has already made plans to return with the loot from Wessex. There was some intense rivalry between Harald and Ivar when the former was still in Kattegat. It remains to be seen how this relationship will develop after the war against Wessex.

Meanwhile, the problems for Floki (Gustaf Skarsgård) continue in the Land of the Gods. In the previous episode, he managed to secure peace by pointing to the next generation. But the times ahead will be challenging as the gods will test the people. The previously released trailer showed a woman jumping to her death in what seems like an offering to the gods.

“Vikings” Season 5, episode 14 will air on Wednesday at 9 p.m. EST on the History Channel.
