The earnings calendar for the week ahead will be comparatively light, but we will still be hearing from a number of household names.

Big-name companies due to report their quarterly earnings results include Wal-Mart, Sears, Home Depot, Groupon, John Deere, and Cisco.

Of the 445 companies in the S&P 500 that have reported second-quarter earnings so far, 68 percent have reported earnings above analyst expectations, in line with the average during the past four quarters, according to data compiled by Thomson Reuters.

We ran a screen and produced a list of 33 key companies set to report their earnings Aug. 13-17. We have highlighted their expected reporting dates and times, along with analysts' earnings-per-share and Reuters revenue estimates, as well as the stocks' year-to-date performances.

Monday Before Market Open, or BMO:

Sysco Corp. (NYSE: SYY) is a North American distributor of food and related products primarily to the foodservice or food-away-from-home industry. The company has a market capitalization of $16.81 billion. It is expected to report FY 2012 fourth-quarter EPS of 54 cents on revenue of $11.05 billion, compared with a profit of 57 cents per share on revenue of $10.43 billion in the year-ago period. Sysco is trading around $28.69 per share. So far this year, the stock has lost 2.18 percent.

Monday After Market Close, or AMC:

Groupon Inc. (Nasdaq: GRPN) is a local e-commerce marketplace that connects merchants to consumers by offering goods and services at a discount. The company has a market capitalization of $4.3 billion. It is expected to report FY2012 second-quarter EPS of 3 cent on revenue of $573.13 million. Groupon turned a profit in the first quarter, making 2 cents a share on revenue of $59.28 million. Groupon is trading around $6.65 a share, which is 67 percent off its initial public offering price of $20 last November.

Tuesday BMO:

Saks Inc. (NYSE: SKS) is a department store retailer. The company has a market capitalization of $1.75 billion. It is expected to report a loss of 9 cents per share on revenue of $704.01 million in the second quarter, compared with a smaller loss of 5 cents per share on revenue of $670.18 million in the year-ago period. Saks is trading around $11.01 per share. So far this year, the stock has gained 12.92 percent.

The Home Depot Inc. (NYSE: HD) is a home-improvement retailer. The company has a market capitalization of $81.35 billion. It is expected to report FY 2012 second-quarter EPS of 97 cents on revenue of $20.75 billion, compared with a profit of 86 cents per share on revenue of $20.23 billion in the year-ago period. Home Depot is trading around $53.15 per share. So far this year, the stock has gained 26.43 percent.

The TJX Companies Inc. (NYSE: TJX) is an off-price apparel and home fashions retailer. The company has a market capitalization of $33.34 billion. It is expected to report FY 2013 second-quarter EPS of 55 cents on revenue of $5.99 billion, compared with a profit of 45 cents per share on revenue of $5.47 billion in the year-ago period. TJX is trading around $45 per share. So far this year, the stock has gained 39.41 percent.

Michael Kors Holdings Ltd. (NYSE: KORS) is a designer, marketer, distributor and retailer of apparel and accessories. The company has a market capitalization of $8.29 billion. It is expected to report FY 2013 first-quarter EPS of 20 cents on revenue of $367.96 million, compared with a profit of 22 cents per share on revenue of $379.96 million in the prior quarter. Michael Kors is trading around $43 per share. So far this year, the stock has gained 57.8 percent.
