Walking Dead
"The Walking Dead" returns to AMC on Sunday, Feb. 9. AMC

WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD

Is it Feb. 9 yet? “Walking Dead” fans will have to wait a little longer for the hit AMC series to return, but the network is feeding viewer hunger with a brand new trailer for episode 9.

Last time we left off Rick and the gang were forced to flee the prison after an attack lead by the Governor. While Rick and Michonne managed to defeat the Woodbury villain, there were still many casualties -- including Hershel and possibly baby Judith.

Without a safe shelter and a lot of food or supplies, the midseason finale concluded with the group split up. Rick and Carl abandoned the prison on foot; Glenn was on the evacuation bus; Maggie, Sasha and Bob chased after the bus on foot; Daryl was forced to drag Beth away; and Tyreese was left running after Lizzie and the rest of the kids.

“I know we’ll never get things back to the way they used to be,” Rick can be heard telling someone (presumably Carl) in the trailer.

“It’s not going to be easy,” he says in another clip. “But we’re not too far gone.”

While we don’t know what kind of state everyone is in, the new promo gives fans of “The Walking Dead” a hint at what’s in store:

-(00:11) The prison is gone for good. Walkers are making their way through the torn down fences, heading toward the recently fallen survivors.

-(00:12) Daryl won’t be having an easy time with Beth. The teen is struggling after the loss of her father and being separated from Maggie and baby Judith.

-(00:17) More Michonne tears! Our favorite katana-wielding survivor is once again battling the undead on her own but the stress and death is definitely getting to her.

-(00:19) Carl is on his own. The teen can be seen with a stern face as he walks down an abandoned road.

-(00:20) Is crazy Rick back? Our fearless leader lost it for a little bit in season 3 and the look in his eyes when he sees himself in the mirror has us thinking that he’s falling apart again.

-(00:21) Daryl and Beth appear to be in some trouble. A clip that we previously got a chance to see shows the pair sprinting through a field.

“The Walking Dead” returns to AMC on Sunday, Feb. 9 with episode 9 at 9 p.m. Watch the new trailer for the midseason premiere below:
