The Golden State Warriors need all the help they can get for the coming NBA season. Following the exit of Kevin Durant, DeMarcus Cousins, and Andre Iguodala, the Dubs have added young players to the mix. This includes D'Angelo Russell and Willie Cauley-Stein. The latest one added is Marquese Chriss. The 22-year-old was the 8th overall pick during the 2016 NBA Draft. Though he has shown promise, the former Washington Huskies forward has struggled to make his mark.

Chriss signed with the Warriors but on a non-guaranteed contract. This means that his chances of making the Warriors roster in the regular season is not so clear. For the Dubs to sign him, they would have to waive Alfonzo McKenzie, Yahoo Sports reported. If Warriors management heeds the call of this unnamed voice in the locker room, that may just happen.

The Athletic claimed that an "important" voice in the locker room made a request to Warriors general manager Bob Myers. It was a simple yet profound (for some) since Chriss is someone who many teams have given up on. It remains unclear who this mystery voice is. However, Draymond Green did have good words for the 6-foot-10 player.

“I think he’s been great all training camp,” Draymond Green said. “He’s been on a couple teams, and everybody has kind of written him off. But he’s been amazing in camp, and to me it looked like he’s figuring it out and he’s turning a corner.”

The Warriors normally give flailing players a second chance. Iguodala and Shaun Livingston are prime examples and were key players in multiple NBA title runs. If there is one thing the Dubs need to be wary of, it is Chriss' discipline. Before the Warriors, he also played for the Phoenix Suns, Houston Rockets and the Cleveland Cavaliers. One thing critics singled out is that he is undisciplined.

Given the benefit of the doubt, the Dubs could be Chriss' new home. He did debut impressively with 8 points, six rebounds and four assists in 14 minutes. However, these numbers may not be enough for him to make the regular-season roster. The future of Chriss will depend on top management. If he does make the regular-season roster, more manpower moves are likely to happen.
