Police in California released a video of officers tasing a man wielding two swords after he stabbed a woman amid a suspected mental health crisis.

The incident occurred on Tuesday around 11:20 p.m. PT in the Mid-Wilshire neighborhood of Los Angeles. Officers responded to a call of an attack with a deadly weapon.

On Wednesday, the Los Angeles Police Department released bodycam footage showing officers telling the suspect to put down his weapons.

The graphic video can be seen below.

In the video, the 23-year-old man wields what appeared to be two Samurai swords in the middle of the street. After refusing to comply with officers, the man was tased and taken into custody.

An additional unit arrived to canvass the area and found a 43-year-old woman with stab wounds.

The officers immediately began rendering life-saving measures, and the woman was transported to a hospital. The victim was reportedly listed in stable condition and expected to recover.

The suspect was booked for attempted murder and held on $1 million bail.

While police said the incident occurred over a family dispute, a neighbor told a local outlet that the victim appeared to be having a mental health crisis.

"He did not seem to be in a lucid state," Josh Gordon, who lives across the street from where the attack took place, said.

"He was moving and walking slowly. My main concern was the woman's safety. There was a real sense of helplessness watching it happen from across the street."

During the attack, Gordon claimed the woman cried out, "I'm your mother." Other witnesses reported seeing the man fatally stab the woman's dog.

Police have not confirmed the relationship between the suspect and the victim and have not addressed the dog's condition following the attack.
