A few days ago, Meghan Markle’s first royal patronages were announced, and now she’s doing her duty of supporting them. One of the organizations she’s the royal patron of is Mayhew, an animal welfare group, and she decided to spend Wednesday visiting with them.

It’s there that she received a surprising comment from someone she was meeting.

The Duchess of Sussex was introducing herself to the organization’s staff and beneficiaries when one woman made quite the impression. While motioning to the pregnant royal’s baby bump, the woman said, “You’re a fat lady.”

Instead of taking it the wrong way, Markle couldn’t help but chuckle and say, “I’ll take it.”

You can see the full exchange in this video posted by Daily Express reporter Richard Palmer:

Prince Harry’s wife is pretty far along in her pregnancy and is expected to give birth at the end of April or start of May. It’s around then that she and her husband are looking to move into their new residence, Frogmore Cottage.

On top of having a new husband, a baby on the way and moving into a new place, Markle’s also going to be keeping busy with not just Mayhew, but her other patronages. She’s the royal patron of Smart Works, which helps women gain employment, as well as the patron of the National Theatre and the Association of Commonwealth Universities.
