After wiping his Instagram page clean of any posts, The Weeknd is ushering in a “new era” of his music that begins with his latest song, “Starboy.” The single will be featured on The Weeknd’s upcoming album of the same name. With less than three months left until the album’s release date, The Weeknd is calling it his “best-sounding album” ever.

While details about the album are still scarce, here’s everything we know about it so far before it hits stores in November:

1. The Album’s First Single Is “Starboy”

Shortly after announcing the new album, The Weeknd released the project’s first single, “Starboy.” Teaming up with Daft Punk, the French production duo’s signature sound can definitely be heard on the track that features a mix of The Weeknd’s old style mixed with his new sound from “Beauty Behind the Madness.”

2. The Album Release Date Is Nov. 25

The Weeknd will release his third studio album a year after the release of the triple platinum “Beauty Behind the Madness.” The album is expected to include 18 songs with “Starboy” and “False Alarm” being two of them.

3. It’s A “New Era” For The Weeknd

Before deleting all of his Instagram posts, the Canadian singer said a “new era” would begin. It appears that the new era will start with The Weeknd chopping off his signature hair style. He is featured on the album’s cover with a short haircut.

4. He’s Taking Inspiration From Legends

According to The Weeknd, production on the new album will feel “aggressive but still sexy,” and the singer is drawing inspiration from some of music’s best. “The Smiths, Bad Brains, Talking Heads, Prince, and DeBarge play roles,” he said.
