“Westworld” Season 1 introduced fans to a number of hosts - robots that are designed to act, talk, and even think like humans. But this Season 2, Delos Corporation will be introducing even more robotic creatures.

One clip shared by the HBO show featured host Bernard Lowe (Jeffrey Wright) with a one creature behind him.

Showrunners Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy told Entertainment Weekly that these are “drone hosts,” and they are the new creatures being created by Delos.

“The drone hosts relate to the corporation’s secret project which is hidden in plain sight in this park,” Nolan explained. “As we talked about in the pilot, the park is one thing for the guests, and it’s another thing for its shareholders and management — something completely different. We’ve used the Google analogy — for consumers, it’s for search and email, yet for the company, it’s for advertising. There is an agenda here that Delos has undertaken for a very long time. As Bernard is making his way through the wreckage of the fallout from the first season, he’s discovering things about the park that even he doesn’t know and coming upon creatures like the drone host.”

Evan Rachel Wood, who stars as host Dolores Abernathy, guaranteed that Season 2 will leave fans’ jaws dropped on the floor because of its new sets of twists and surprises.

“You are really, really in for it,” she shared when she appeared at TIFF Bell Lightbox in Toronto, Canada. “I had no idea, I thought, ‘God where are they gonna go from here, how are they gonna top this?’ — first five minutes of the first episode, [I thought,] ‘Oh, they’ve done it!’”

Wood already fell head over heels in love with her character in Season 1, but Season 2 made her appreciate Dolores Abernathy more. “It’s the hardest thing I’ve ever done, especially season two, actually because she’s even more complicated, if you can imagine. I described being on season two as being on ‘The Deadliest Catch’ boat while being a contestant on ‘Chopped.’”

Her co-star, Jimmi Simpson, who plays the young William, also shared the same sentiment. Simpson told Collider that Season 2 has a few more shocking revelations up its sleeves. “In the David Cronenberg film ‘Scanners,’ there’s a scene where Michael Ironside is demonstrating his psychic abilities. If your mind was blown by the first season, than in Season 2, you’re definitely the guy with glasses that gets the dark side of Ironside,” he told Collider.

“Westworld” Season 2 premieres on April 22 on HBO.
