Camilla Parker Bowles was reportedly never threatened by Princess Diana.

Prince Charles dated Camilla first before Princess Diana. Unfortunately, both ended up marrying someone else. Camilla married her first husband Andrew Parker Bowles while the heir apparent married Princess Diana.

According to Anthony Holden, Prince Charles was very close to Camilla and Lady Tyron. The two women found Princess Diana to be the most suitable wife for Prince Charles.

“They were even said at the time to have formed a committee to vet virgins fit to marry the Prince, and put Diana at the top of the list,” Holden wrote.

It turned out that they wanted Princess Diana for Prince Charles because they didn’t see her as a threat. In fact, Camilla’s first impression of Princess Diana was “the blushing little Spencer girl.”

Camilla and Lady Tyron were convinced that Princess Diana would not give them any trouble. Thus, she’s a better choice compared to Anna Wallace who rejected Prince Charles’ proposal twice.

Prince Charles dated Anna in the late 1970s. However, unlike Princess Diana, she was fiery.

In Penny Junor’s book “The Duchess,” Anna broke off with Prince Charles over Camilla following the Queen Mother’s 80th birthday at Windsor Castle.

“Charles had taken her to two successive balls and then danced with Camilla for most of both evenings,” Junor wrote.

“Anna dumped him with the words: ‘No one treats me like that – not even you.’”

Another source said that Anna was humiliated at how Prince Charles snubbed her at the event over Camilla. She was overheard telling the future king that she was “never been so badly treated in my life.” She then went on and told Prince Charles, “you’ve left me all alone all evening and now you will have to continue without me.”

Eventually, Prince Charles met Princess Diana and they started dating. Princess Diana and Camilla started as friends but the Princess of Wales became suspicious of the Duchess of Cornwall when she kept on asking her if she would join Prince Charles to hunting when she moved to Highgrove.

The People’s Princess realized that Camilla was using Prince Charles’ love for hunting a “conduit to maintaining her own relationship with” the heir apparent.
