Ivana Trump’s ex-husband Rossano Rubicondi died on Friday following a year-long battle with an illness.

The Italian news outlet Internapoli reported Rubicondi had been sick for a year. However, the New York Post claimed the actor had been battling melanoma, a type of skin cancer.

Italian television personality Simona Ventura announced Rubicondi’s death on Friday by sharing a photo of herself with the actor.

“Rossano… Thanks for the journey we made together, for the quarrels, the pisses but also the clarifications and laughter, so many, that we did together. Have a good trip RiP,” Ventura tweeted.

On Saturday, Trump confirmed Rubicondi’s death in a statement to People. “I’m devastated,” she said.

Rubicondi, who was 49 years old at the time of his death, was a model and actor. He appeared in several films, including “The Golden Bowl” starring Uma Thurman and Kate Beckinsale, and “The Eighteenth Angel” starring Rachael Leigh Cook.

Trump married Rubicondi, her fourth husband, in 2008 following six years of dating. The two wed in a $3 million ceremony at her ex-husband Donald Trump’s resort in Palm Beach, Mar-A-Lago.

The following year, Ivana Trump filed for divorce but continued an on-and-off relationship with Rubicondi. In 2019, Trump revealed they split for good. “The relationship just ran its course,” she told Page Six after the breakup.

“Rossano spends a lot of time in Italy and I spend a lot of time in New York, Miami, and St-Tropez, and he has to work. The long-distance relationship really doesn’t work. We had a good time and are friends. The split was amicable.”

Over the last few years, Rubicondi had been working on creating a pizzeria in West Palm Beach, Florida under the name Rossano To Go.
