Russell Simmons’s name has been added to the long list of public figures who have been accused of assault. On Thursday, Hollywood screenwriter Jenny Lumet claimed the entrepreneur and music mogul forced her to be physically intimate with him in 1991.

As details about the assault allegations continue to surface, many may be questioning who Simmons’s ex-wife, Kimora Lee Simmons, is, and where she is today.

Like Russell, Kimora, formerly known as Kimora Lee Perkins, is also well known in the world of entertainment. The 42-year-old St. Louis, Missouri, native, made a name for herself working as a model and a fashion designer and now operates her own self-titled brand.

Kimora is also an author, having penned the book “Fabulosity: What It Is & How to Get It” in 2006. TV viewers will also remember her for producing and starring in two reality series, “Kimora: Life in the Fab Lane” and “Kimora: House of Fab.”

Kimora was married to Russell from 1998 to 2009. They share two children, daughters Ming Lee, now 17, and Aoki Lee, now 15.

Kimora has since remarried. After her split from Russell, she dated and welcomed son Kenzo Lee with actor Djimon Hounsou in 2009. She is now married to financier Tim Leissner, whom she wed in 2013. She and Reissner welcomed son Wolfe Lee in 2015.

As of publication, Kimora has not addressed her ex’s latest scandal on social media. Her last social media post was released Thursday evening. The post included a throwback shot of herself and the caption, “Laughing my way to the weekend.” She also tweeted her congratulations to Britain’s Prince Harry on his engagement to American actress Meghan Markle earlier the same day.

After Lumet came forward with accusations against Simmons, he announced he would be stepping down from his companies.

“I have been informed with great anguish of Jenny Lumet’s recollection about our night together in 1991. I know Jenny and her family and have seen her several times over the years since the evening she described. While her memory of that evening is very different from mine, it is now clear to me that her feelings of fear and intimidation are real. While I have never been violent, I have been thoughtless and insensitive in some of my relationships over many decades and I sincerely and humbly apologize,” he said in a statement.

“This is a time of great transition. The voices of the voiceless, those who have been hurt or shamed, deserve and need to be heard. As the corridors of power inevitably make way for a new generation, I don’t want to be a distraction so I am removing myself from the businesses that I founded... As for me, I will step aside and commit myself to continuing my personal growth, spiritual learning and above all to listening.”

His decision to step down followed a claim released earlier this month by former model Keri Claussen Khalighi who also accused Simmons of assaulting her in 1991. Simmons claimed the actions between him and Khalighi were consensual.
