Whoopi Goldberg will return for “The View” Season 21 this September.

According to Variety, Goldberg will once again serve as moderator of the talk show. The publication also noted that Goldberg signing on for Season 21 is an important move for ABC. The “Sister Act” actress has acted as the glue that holds the hosts together for the past couple of years since Barbara Walters retired in 2014.

The ratings for “The View” have also spiked in the past couple of weeks, ever since they started tackling issues related to Donald Trump’s presidency. Last week alone, “The View” Season 20 averaged 2.6 million viewers and beat “The Talk.” The latter veers away from political issues and tends to focus more on pop culture.

Also in Season 20, “The View” invited some of the biggest names in the political sphere. This included former presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, Senator Elizabeth Warren and former secretary of state Condoleezza Rice.

Meanwhile, Goldberg first joined “The View” in 2007 and has been part of the talk show longer than almost all of her other co-hosts. Meredith Vieira and Star Jones hosted “The View” for nine years. Goldberg was surpassed by Walters, who was on the show for 17 years, as well as Joy Behar, who joined in 1997.

Last year, there were reports that Goldberg would be leaving “The View.” The host-actress also said that even though the reports were still premature at that time, it is highly likely that she wouldn’t be back next season. While speaking with Wendy Williams on “The Wendy Williams Show,” Goldberg said, “I have to do it, baby, because I have to go and grow. I got stuff to do. I got movies I need to direct. I got books I need to finish. This was great and I love doing it, but it’s been a while and they’re on their 20th season. They did this without me.”

Luckily, Goldberg has decided to stick around. But the same cannot be said for the other hosts who left “The View.” Rosie O’Donnell, Raven Symone and Candace Cameron Bure are just some of the hosts who have resigned from the show, according to Deadline.
