On Monday morning, Abby Huntsman announced that she will be leaving "The View" this year. She has been a part of the popular ABC daytime talk show that she co-hosts with Whoopi Goldberg, Meghan McCain, Joy Behar, and Sunny Hostin since taking on the job in Sept. 2018.

"This is always such a hard thing to do ... but today I'm saying goodbye," she stated. As for what prompted her decision, she shared that her "number one priority" has always been her family. This, in turn, made her choose to help her dad, Jon Huntsman Jr., run his political campaign for Utah's governorship. She then revealed that she had been asked to do so months ago but had initially hesitated as she did not feel it was the right time.

She then thanked various people who she felt positively influenced her time on the show, including the behind-the-scenes staff and the viewers for believing in her. The moment can be seen below.

As for what she will be doing as she transitions into the new phase of her life, according to Fox News, her official title while working on her dad's campaign will be senior advisor. An insider also revealed that her dad had extended the invitation to her last November when he decided to run for reelection. Now, she is set to step into her new role and assist her dad as he works towards the 2020 primary in June.

This new effort follows his decision in 2009 to leave in the middle of his second term as he went to go serve as ambassador to China during the Obama administration. Additionally, he has worked as an ambassador to Russia under President Trump for two years.

Since leaving, Meghan McCain has also revealed how she feels about the former "Fox & Friends Weekend" co-host's departure. "@TheView is less without you and your light. I wish you, your family, & your father @JonHuntsman’s campaign all the absolute best. He’s lucky to have you officially lead his team!" she wrote.

Huntsman's last day is scheduled for Friday.
