Angelina Jolie first filed for divorce from Brad Pitt in 2016, however, more than two years later, the two are still married. A new report claims the stars are ready to be legally single and are negotiating a “bifurcated judgment,” which would allow them to be free from one another.

Pitt and Jolie, who share six kids together, have been in an ongoing battle over their kids and divorce settlement. While 55-year-old and his estranged wife have managed to reach a custody arrangement, the spouses have grown impatient with the lack of progress made in their divorce.

An alleged source reportedly told The Blast Jolie and Pitt are in the process of negotiating a “bifurcated judgment,” which would allow the pair to be considered legally divorced. However, the “Mr. & Mrs. Smith” stars would still have to reach a final settlement for other aspects like property and assets.

Although the push for single status comes following Pitt’s attendance to ex-wife, Jennifer Aniston’s 50th birthday party, insiders revealed the legal proceedings have nothing to do with a blossoming romance.

A source revealed Pitt and Jolie “both want to get on with their lives and no longer want to be married to each other.”

The tipster implied the approval of the “bifurcated judgment” would give Jolie and Pitt the opportunity to “emotionally move on” from their marriage.

Rumors of Pitt and Jolie’s potential divorce negotiations comes after sources revealed the two have a better relationship, following what was initially a bitter custody battle.

“Brad and Angie have been on better terms since the custody trial drama was settled. There are, of course, going to continue to be disagreements between them,” a source told Us Weekly.

Despite the rumors, neither Pitt nor Jolie have acknowledged reports claiming they are negotiating a “bifurcated judgment.”
