Braunwyn Windham-Burke and her girlfriend Victoria Brito have parted ways.

The "Real Housewives of Orange County" alum, 44, and the 30-year-old model called it quits after nearly nine months of dating.

An unnamed source close to the former couple told People that their relationship "just wasn't working."

"They had great chemistry, but ultimately, it wasn't enough to sustain them and the long distance became too hard to maintain," the insider said of the pair, who live on separate coasts.

Windham-Burke lives in Newport Beach, California, while Brito is based in New York City.

According to the tipster, the decision to end their relationship was mutual, but that didn't make it easy for the reality star.

"Braunwyn is heartbroken," the insider said. "She fell hard, she fell fast, and she loved Vic with her whole heart. The relationship ending, it's devastating for her."

This was Windham-Burke's longest relationship since she came out as a lesbian in December 2020. She was 42 when she revealed her sexuality amid rumors that she was in an open marriage with her husband of over 20 years, Sean Burke, at the time.

"Part of being a late-in-life lesbian is that Braunwyn's experiencing all these things for the first time," the source added. "This was really her first serious relationship with a woman since coming out [in 2020]. So while most people have their first heartbreak in their late teens, she's having it at 44. And she's dealing with it as best she can."

The mother of seven — who shares Bella, 21, Rowan, 20, Jacob, 16, twins Caden and Curran, 9, Koa, 7, and Hazel, 4, with husband Sean — opened up about the breakup on her instagram Story Friday.

"My heart is just broken," she said. "The breakup with me and Vic, it's hard. It's hard. ... This was like my first long-term female relationship that just threw me for a loop. It's normal."

Last month, Windham-Burke revealed that her eldest daughter was having a "hard" time seeing her parents move on from their marriage, regardless of who they're dating.

"She grew up with a certain family and, you know, that's close to her heart," the reality star told Us Weekly.

But while Bella found it difficult to accept the changes in their family, her sister Rowan adored Brito.

"They get along great," Windham-Burke said. "Jacob is a 16-year-old boy. He's like, 'Whatever, I don't care.' And the little kids, you know, as far as they know, it's just more people that love them. And that's sort of how Sean and I have presented this to them. Our family isn't splitting up. Our family is growing."

Windham-Burke previously dated fellow "Real Housewives of Orange County" alum Fernanda Rocha and Kris, her first girlfriend after she came out as gay. Kris was romantically linked to Alexis Haines in September 2021, People reported.
