On Monday, actor Tyler Christopher went out for the night in Martinsville, Indiana, to celebrate his birthday. The 47-year-old ended his night of partying by being arrested for public intoxication.

Christopher is best known for his roles as Nikolas Cassadine/Connor Bishop on “General Hospital” and Stefan O. DiMera on “Days of Our Lives.” In his personal life, he is known for his previous marriage to “Desperate Housewives” alum Eva Longoria from 2002 to 2004.

TMZ obtained records from the Morgan County Jail where Christopher is being held on $225 cash and $1,000 bond. At the time of this writing, it is unknown if he has been released.

In his mugshot, also acquired by TMZ, the soap opera star looks much different than the clean-cut look viewers are used to seeing. The photo shows him sporting shaggy hair, a large beard, and what looks to be a gash on his nose.

Christopher has struggled with alcohol addiction in the past. According to Inquisitr, his once relapsed due to having to travel frequently for "Days of Our Lives," leaving him to be away from his wife Brienne Pedigo and kids for long periods. When he left “Days of Our Lives,” he reportedly got sober and started working with Skipstone Pictures.

Fans were sad to hear about the actor's alleged sudden relapse and used Twitter to show their support.

“So sad. He’s so talented. I hope he gets the help he needs. So many celebrities suffer through drug or alcohol problems. I guess fame and fortune isn’t all it’s cracked up to be,” one fan wrote.

“My prayers go out to Tyler,” another fan posted.

“Tyler’s life is more important than acting on a soap. I’m praying for his recovery & healing and that his family and friends show him that they love him and will walk through recovery with him,” one person added.
