Percy Hynes White and Emma Dumont star in the "calaMity" episode of “The Gifted.” Steve Dietl/Fox

Update — 2/5/19 11:12 a.m. EST: “The Gifted” will now return with new episodes on Feb. 12, instead of tonight, because Fox is airing President Trump’s State of the Union address during the show’s usual time slot.

Original Story: Sorry, “The Gifted” fans, there’s no new episode of the Fox drama on tonight. Luckily, you won’t have to wait too long for it to come back.

As of now, Season 2, episode 14 of “The Gifted,” titled “calaMity,” will air on Tuesday, Feb. 5. With the 2019 State of the Union Address now set to happen the same night, Fox might decide to push the new episode back another week. When it does finally arrive, it’ll partly focus on the effects of Marcos (Sean Teale) going after Max (James Carpinello) in the last episode.

According to the synopsis, “When one of the Inner Circle goes missing, Reeva [Grace Byers] intensifies security in their compound but realizes that her plans may have already been exposed.

“Furious and paranoid, Reeva resorts to violence. Caitlin [Amy Acker] and Reed [Stephen Moyer] consider using the serum to restrict Lauren’s [Natalie Alyn Lind] use of her powers, hoping it will help her as she wrestles with nightmares about the Inner Circle and her ancestors. And it’s the battle of two extreme ideologies when the Morlocks and the Purifiers come face-to-face in battle.”

While a new episode isn’t on tonight, there will still be a rerun of the super-powered series airing on Fox during the show’s usual time slot. Season 2, episode 10, titled “eneMy of My eneMy,” has been chosen as the repeat episode to air.

See a fresh episode of “The Gifted” when it returns on Fox on Tuesday, Feb. 5 at 9 p.m. EST.
