Before Prince Harry married Meghan Markle, he spent his time in the royal spotlight alongside Prince William and Kate Middleton. However, once the Duke of Sussex met the former “Suits” star, his life changed drastically.

After Prince Harry and Meghan’s royal wedding in 2018, the couple began to distance themselves from the Cambridges. The decision has caused one royal biographer to believe Meghan wears the pants in their relationship.

In the Channel 4 program, “Harry and Meghan: The Baby Years,” Penny Junor claimed Prince Harry was “a little bit lost” and “lonely” when he began dating Meghan. While Harry was content spending time with William and his new family, he desired to have one of his own.

"His brother and sister-in-law had settled down and had this lovely, cozy family. And he loved the children, and he loved raiding their fridge and spending time with them. But I think he wanted that for himself. I would say he was a little in the wilderness,” Junor explained.

Following their blind date, Harry became smitten with Meghan and eventually proposed. During their engagement interview, the royal biographer noted that Meghan actively participated in the conversation and showed the ability to take charge.

“I think Meghan is a very strong woman and it was absolutely clear that she very much wanted to be part of that interview. She wasn’t just going to be a little flower sitting beside her Prince, she was going to take part, and quite clearly she rules the roost,” Junor said.

Due to Meghan’s history has an actress, Junor believes she was able to fit into Prince Harry’s world, unlike past girlfriends. “The fact that [Meghan] was a star already probably made life a lot easier in terms of their future together,” she shared.

Harry’s ex-girlfriends, Cressida Bonas and Chelsy Davy reportedly struggled to deal with the media attention they receive during their relationship with the prince. “It is a life of discipline, and a life lived in a goldfish bowl. That was the issue facing any bride for Harry,” Junor noted.

Since Meghan was accustomed to constant media attention, Prince Harry “quickly realized that [him and Meghan] had similar experiences.”

While Prince Harry and Meghan seem to be the perfect match, their disregard for royal traditions has resulted in some criticism from the public. Nonetheless, the couple seems determined to create a unique path for themselves and their baby boy, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor.
