  • Wendy Williams is skipping her talk show’s promotional activities
  • The TV personality is dealing with ongoing health issues
  • Williams’ camp assured that she will be back for Season 13’s premiere

Wendy Williams is taking a break from “The Wendy Williams Show” for a reason.

The 57-year-old television host is skipping the promotions for her daytime talk show due to ongoing health issues.

“Wendy is dealing with some ongoing health issues and is undergoing further evaluations,” read a statement from her camp that was shared on Instagram Thursday.

As she is putting her health first, Williams has decided to skip the promotional activities for now. But she will definitely be back for the premiere of Season 13.

“She will not be able to complete her promotional activities next week, but can’t wait to be back in her purple chair on Monday, September 20th for the 13th season premiere,” the statement continued.

Many fans quickly flooded the media maven’s Instagram update with well wishes, including her fellow gossip hound Perez Hilton, who commented, “Get well soon.”

“Feel better soon Wendy! Sending love,” TV journalist and producer Sharon L. Carpenter wrote.

“Hang in there Wendy!! Looking forward to September 20,” one fan added.

The staff and crew of the talk show returned to the office this week as preparations for the season premiere are underway, sources told Page Six.

Williams was previously diagnosed with Graves’ disease, an autoimmune disease that affects the thyroid gland, in 2018. Amid her battle with the condition, she delayed her talk show’s return three times from the year she announced her diagnosis until 2019.

As she began to deal with more symptoms, Williams eventually announced that she was taking a break from her show in spring 2020, as per Us Weekly.

In a statement released via Twitter at the time, the TV star’s camp said the symptoms were causing her fatigue, so her doctor advised her to take some time off while receiving treatment.

“Recently, Wendy has been dealing with symptoms from her Graves’ disease which is causing fatigue. In consultation with her doctor and as a precautionary measure, she will be taking some time off as she continues to receive treatment,” the statement read.

Prior to her diagnosis, Williams caused her fans to worry when she fainted on live TV during an episode of her show in October 2017. After the incident, she addressed the issue and blamed it on being “overheated in my [Statue of Liberty] costume.”
