The writers of “Alias” reunited at the ATX Festival on Saturday, June 10.

While there, co-executive producer Josh Applebaum was asked if a revival for the Jennifer Garner-starrer is possible. While speaking with Entertainment Weekly, Applebaum said, “It would be amazing to do it. We’ve even talked with J.J. Abrams about it. The right idea would have to come. We wouldn’t want to do it unless it was absolutely perfect.”

According to TV Line, it is unclear if Abrams will still be involved in an “Alias” revival if it will ever push through. At present, Abrams is in charge of multiple projects which suggest that his schedule could be full. “Alias” lead star Garner also told the New York Daily News in 2012 that she will only be on board with the revival if Abrams will also be a part of it.

“I think J.J. Abrams has got his hands full. I don’t see him turning around and rebooting ‘Alias’ anytime soon. If he was involved, I’m sure the rest of us would sign right up. We had a blast making that show and we’re all still super close, so I’m sure you would find an eager group of participants right here,” she said. But almost five years have passed since Garner’s interview, and talks about “Alias” are nothing but just that – talks.

ABC’s “Alias” ended in 2006 after five seasons. In the final scene, Dixon (Carl Lumbly) paid a visit to Sydney and Michael (Michael Vartan) and asked for their help on a new mission. Additionally, Sydney’s daughter, Isabelle (Julia Di Angelo) managed to solve the puzzle that her mom and Jack (Victor Garber) completed while evaluating subjects for the Christmas Project. TV Line is speculating on the possibility of Sydney and Isabelle working together if the revival will receive a go from the network.

Other “Alias” cast members include Bradley Cooper as Will Tippin, Ron Rifkin as Arvin Sloane, Kevin Weisman as Marshall Flinkman, Greg Grunberg as Eric Weiss, David Anders as Julian Sark, Merrin Dungey as Francie Calfo, Mia Maestro as Nadia Santos, Melissa George as Lauren Reed, Rachel Nichols as Rachel Gibson, Terry O’Quinn as FBI Assistant Director Kendall and more.
