Calling all Christian Grey hopefuls! Rumors swirled Tuesday that “Fifty Shades of Grey” star Jamie Dornan was going to quit the film adaptation of E.L. James’ famous erotic series. While his rep denied the claim, he also added there were not any definite fans for a sequel.

The Irish actor leaving “Fifty Shades Darker” is “pure conjecture as the studio has not committed to a sequel as yet,” his rep told Gossip Cop Tuesday. Though it’s been widely reported there will be a second film, Focus Features told the news site there was no confirmation for a second film.

The gossip went viral after Australian magazine NW reported Dornan, 32, wanted to bail because his wife, Amelia Warner, was not happy with his new title as the kinky dominant and the raunchy sex scenes with his co-star. He was also upset with Johnson and said “Dakota gave him nothing to work with," a source told the magazine.

While Johnson widely received praise for her portrayal as Anastasia Steele, many felt Dornan’s performance fell flat. Considering there isn’t definitely a second film, there’s the possibility someone else could step in to play Christian Grey.

Casting rumors were one of the hottest topics among “FSOG” fans when it was announced there would be a movie. The excitement subsided when the official cast was revealed, but the Dornan rumor unearthed the old speculation. So, if not Dornan, than who?

Charlie Hunnam

The “Sons of Anarchy” star was originally cast as the Seattle billion with a penchant for BDSM. He later dropped out after a massive backlash, and cited “scheduling conflicts” as the reason he had to depart from the production. But now that “SoA” is over, could Hunnam be the new -- and possibly rightful -- Christian Grey?

Old Fan Favorites

Matt Bomer and Ian Somerhalder were two of the most popular fan favorites after it was revealed that there would be a “FSOG” movie. Both the actors fit the written description of Grey: tall, dark and handsome with light eyes and a strong build.

Alexander Skarsgård

The “True Blood” actor wasn’t everyone’s first pick for the role, but he certainly has the acting chops. On the HBO vampire show, Skarsgård, who stands 6 feet 4 inches, played a character that was dominant and had regular sex scenes. He would be comfortable with the nudity considering he appeared naked on “True Blood,” with only a book to cover his unmentionables. Plus, considering “FSOG” was based off of “Twilight” fan fiction, an actor who formerly played a vampire could be perfect for the role.
