Katy Perry, who is pregnant with her first child, recently addressed the rumor that Jennifer Aniston will be her daughter’s godmother.

The 35-year-old pop star appeared on the Australian radio program "Kyle and Jackie O Show" Sunday, July 19, and set the record straight, calling it a “wild rumor.” Perry said though she and her fiancé, Orlando Bloom, were friends with Aniston, the rumor isn't true.

"She texted us because we are friendly with her, and Orlando is one of her good friends. And we were like, 'Wow, this is a wild rumor,'" Perry said.

"God knows she's had everything said about her. But I guess this is a fun rumor. But no, we have no idea where it came from," she added.

Giving an update about her pregnancy, Perry, who announced her pregnancy in the music video for her single "Never Worn White” in March, said she is keeping busy.

"I'm a very active woman… and during this time of COVID -- and quite frankly an American revolution -- I have been also putting out songs and heading towards putting out a record. I'm working really hard. The one blessing is I don't have to travel extremely. I like not watching the hands of time roll by. I like being a mother on the move," Perry said.

The singer, who was wearing a crop top for the Zoom interview, stood up to give a peek of her baby bump.

"I was like, I wanted to wear this piece of merch that I had made for my record, but I was like, 'It's a crop top...Can I wear that? I'm gonna be a mom,' I was like, 'F--k it! I can still be young and fun and wear a crop top!'" she said.

Speaking about keeping her pregnancy a secret for a long time, the singer said, "I think in a pop star's life, usually the conversation every three months -- especially when she's dating someone -- is, 'Are you pregnant? Pregnant yet? You pregnant now? Now? Is that Taco Bell?'...It's like, it's only annoying if you let it be annoying."
