There is a new trend among the royal families, and fans are now wondering if Prince William and Kate Middleton will follow it.

According to Latifa Yedroudj of Daily Express, the Dutch royal family have started a new trend. King Willem-Alexander, Queen Maxima and their three daughters, Princess Catharina-Amalia, Princess Alexia and Princess Ariane, posed in an unconventional way in a striking portrait taken by Erwin Olaf.

The photo featured the family of five mid-stride with their hair swaying in the air. They donned coordinated black ensembles with Princess Alexia taking center stage. In contrast, she is wearing a white shirt. The photo was released to celebrate the king's five years on the throne.

The Belgian royal family recreated the photo with a subtle difference. On Tuesday, King Philippe, Queen Mathilde and their four children, Princess Elisabeth, Princess Eleonore, Prince Gabriel and Prince Emmanuel, were photographed walking on the grounds of their royal residence. However, unlike the Dutch royals, they were holding hands.

Royal fans are looking forward to seeing the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's take on the new trend. Just recently, Prince William and Middleton shared the official photos of Prince Louis' christening. However, unlike the Dutch and British royals, they seem to favor the more traditional photoshoot with plain backgrounds and neutral colors.

Prince William and Middleton also shared a giggling photo of their youngest son that instantly won the hearts of the netizens. In the snap, the royal mom-of-three is carrying Prince Louis in her arms. The latter is staring at something and seem to be enjoying it.

"So happy to finally see his precious little face! He is absolutely adorable & that smile...oh, he’s just so cute! Catherine looks so beautiful & I have to agree with many others on here...this is my favorite of all the photos. Thank you so much for sharing with us!" netizen Catherine Uher wrote.

According to reports, the photo was not meant to be released to the public, but the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge found it to be so adorable not to share. The snap was taken by Matt Porteous who was there to capture the family's private moment. The official photos that the royal family released were taken by another royal photographer, Matt Holyoak.
