Meghan Markle could have a run-in with one of Prince Harry’s exes at Princess Eugenie’s wedding ceremony.

On Monday, Princess Eugenie, 27, announced that she and boyfriend Jack Brooksbank will soon tie the knot and is expected to invite her closest pals to the nuptials. Cressida Bonas is a close friend of Queen Elizabeth II’s granddaughter. In fact, it was Eugenie who introduced the actress and Prince Harry to each other. As such, Bonas, 28, will likely get an invite to the ceremony, where she could meet her ex-boyfriend’s soon-to-be wife, according to Daily Mail.

Bonas, the granddaughter of Edward Curzon, 6th Earl Howe, and Prince Harry met in May 2012 through Princess Eugenie and started dating shortly after. They parted ways in 2014, Metro UK noted.

Princess Eugenie and Brooksbank have yet to set a date for their wedding, but they will hold the ceremony at St. George’s Chapel, which is the same church Markle and Prince Harry will be tying the knot in on May 19.

However, Bonas and Markle’s possible meeting is not the only potentially awkward encounter that may happen on Princess Eugenie’s big day. The latter’s mother, Sarah, Duchess of York, may have a run-in with Prince Philip at the ceremony.

In 1992, Sarah became the topic of a scandal after she was photographed sunbathing topless while having her toes sucked by her financial advisor. Her relationship with the Queen and her husband was left in tatters when photos of her in a compromising position were published by newspapers. Shortly after, she left the British royal family.

Sarah has returned to Balmoral in recent years, staying for short breaks with ex-husband Prince Andrew, Queen Elizabeth II and Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie. However, it is believed that she only visited when Prince Philip was away.

At the moment, the Duchess is ecstatic for her daughter’s upcoming nuptials and expressed her joy via social media on Monday. She wrote on Twitter that she adores her new son-in-law and described Eugenie as “one of the finest people” she knows.

Meanwhile, aside from Bonas, other pals who may receive an invite to Princess Eugenie and Brooksbank’s wedding include Ellie Goulding, Cara Delevingne, Sir Richard Branson’s Holly and presenter Natalie Pinkham.
