  • Williams and Crystal Bradford won’t be re-signed by the Atlanta Dream after this season
  • The WNBA is now conducting its own investigation

Courtney Williams, a soon-to-be-former member of the Atlanta Dream in the WNBA, has issued an apology over a video that went viral recently.

The 27-year-old from Georgia was one of several WNBA players who brawled outside a day club in Atlanta last May.

Aside from Williams, her teammate Crystal Bradford was also involved in the fracas.

The video was posted only last weekend, where the WNBA All-Star even poked fun about it.

Based on the timestamp of the deleted clip, the incident occurred just after the WNBA season had begun, ESPN reported.

Aware of the negativity that the video had, Williams has issued an apology for the incident. She posted the following on her Twitter account.

"I want to sincerely apologize for the video posted yesterday," Williams said. "I would never want to represent myself or the organization in a negative way."

"I’m learning everyday, so I ask for grace as I’m growing. Again I apologize to all attached, and I will be better moving forward."

The footage, which also appeared to show another Dream player in Kalani Brown, was 39-minutes long.

It was reportedly filmed by Williams with her girlfriend Glamazontay, a YouTube personality who has more than 870,000 subscribers.

As of this writing, it has yet to be known how the fight started. Police were not involved although some security personnel was seen in the video trying to break up the commotion.

Both the WNBA and Dream are now conducting their investigation on the matter.

"The behavior in the video is unacceptable and does not align with our values as an organization," the Dream said in a statement Monday, October 4. "We are taking this matter very seriously and working with the league to gather more information and determine next steps."

Regardless of what comes out of that, the Dream has already taken action.

According to sources cited by Howard Megdal, the editor of The Next Hoops, Williams and Bradford will not be re-signed under any circumstances.

Since joining the league in 2016, Williams has played for four different teams. It appears he is set to move to a fifth one soon.
