A woman slashed two other fellow bus passengers after they tried to pet her dog on an MTA bus near East 149th Street and Morris Avenue, New York , Monday afternoon.

The passengers, Imzadi Henriquez and Lenora McClelland-Fraser, were travelling with the lady who was holding a dog. When Henriquez tried went to pet the dog, a service dog, the woman slashed the woman in the face. The victim sustained four slash wounds.

When McClelland-Fraser tried to intervene, she too was slashed in the left arm and went on to get 12 stitches, ABC7 reported.

While the suspect got off the bus at East 149th Street and Morris Avenue and fled in a green SUV taxi, the victims too got down at the same stop and ran to a nearby hospital.

Describing the scene, a witness said, "I saw a woman running around looking for a taxi, and the people were going crazy,” NBC New York reported.

Recounting the horrific incident Henriquez said “I put my hand out so the dog could smell my hand. She got mad at that and ended up smacking my hand."

The woman continued chiding her and said “Don't touch my dog. You can't f------ touch my dog. My dog is a service dog. You can't do that,” the New York Daily reported.

When the bus stopped, Henriquez was about to get down when she heard the woman laughing. She then went to the woman to confront her and the two ended up fighting.

“I ended up coming back on the bus to go ahead and confront her. We ended up fighting. I don't know who hit who first, but I then went to grab her jacket to take a swing at her. She ended up grabbing my jacket and swung at me. At some point, I grabbed her hair. Then she kept hitting me and hitting me and I didn't know she had a blade in her hand until my girlfriend (McClelland-Fraser) told me I was bleeding,” she recounted.

McClelland-Fraser tried to intervene and the dog owner slashed her left arm.

"I didn't think that petting someone's dog would have that kind of reaction and that it would escalate to that. I'm not okay that I made the decision to go back and confront her, I can't take that back. But I'm that person that— yeah, I probably would have done that again, honestly,” Henriquez said.

Police are looking for the woman and described her as woman in mid 30s who is 5-feet-7 to 5-feet-9 tall. She was last seen wearing eyeglasses, a dark-colored baseball cap, a black waist-length coat and black pants. She was also carrying a black shoulder purse and had a small puppy in her hand that wore a pink jacket.
