Would Meghan Markle marry Prince Harry if he were not a royal?

A number of netizens are wondering about the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s relationship with some questioning the former “Suits” star’s motive in joining the royal family. On the online forum site Quora, many were convinced that Markle and Prince Harry’s love story would have been different if he were not a member of the British royal family.

“I don’t think that Meghan would have found Harry attractive if he was [sic] a postman,” Michaela Williamson, an artistic director, wrote.

However, she believed that Prince Harry and Markle are genuinely infatuated with each other. She stressed that the test of true love comes when the infatuation wears off. She believes that the couple’s infatuation lasted longer because they spent so much time apart during their courtship.

Davida Shensky, president at Career Performance Institute, also expressed that Markle would have not married Prince Harry if he didn’t have his current royal status. According to her, Prince William’s brother could give her the celebrity spotlight and attention she craved for.

“If he wasn’t Diana’s son or couldn’t give her the celebrity status she craves she probably wouldn’t have maneuvered to meet him to begin with,” Shensky commented about the matter, implying about Prince Harry and Markle’s blind date.

Elizabeth Davies reasoned out that Prince Harry has been a prince since birth, so his personality would have been very different if he were not royalty. She added that Markle “wouldn't have liked him so much.”

Cynderella Zeiten is positive that Markle would have not married Prince Harry if he were not a royal. Prince Harry would be unemployed and potentially homeless and would be a traumatized war veteran if he were not Prince Charles and Princess Diana’s son, she said.

She also pointed out Prince Harry’s lack of degree and significant talents beyond taking his royal duties. Markle has no history of dating men like that, so their romance could have been impossible.

Others were still positive that Markle would marry Prince Harry if he shared the same passion for her humanitarian efforts. Some insisted that what the couple has is true love.

“Perhaps I am not cynical enough for today’s times, but I see this as a genuine love story,” Alice Thompson wrote.

Meanwhile Sky News presenter Adam Boulton recently said that Markle married Prince Harry to “enhance her celebrity” status. He added that Markle and her friends are all “tiresome” following her extravagant baby shower in New York that was criticized by a number of royal experts.
