MMA star and former two-division UFC champion Georges St-Pierre is reportedly leaving the door open for a possible WWE special appearance.

In a recent interview, UFC's premiere star Georges St-Pierre spoke about WWE and what he thinks about professional wrestling. According to St-Pierre, he was at an event by ESPN in which he, alongside former UFC women's Strawweight champion Rose Namajunas, was nominated for the Best Fighter Award when the WWE approached him.

St-Pierre hinted at talks of a special appearance when he revealed details about the conversation between him and the WWE representatives during the event. “They wanted to contact my agents, I gave them their number, but I don’t want to switch to wrestling full-time," St-Pierre revealed.

While the French-Canadian MMA superstar made it clear that he does not want to make a switch to pro wrestling regularly, he left both MMA and WWE fans something to talk about and watch out for in the near future.

"Perhaps for a special event, so I could taste it. But I don’t know if I’d want to sign a contract and do it every week and making it a living. Maybe for a special appearance," St-Pierre said, according to MMA Fighting.

MMA stars have already succeeded in playing a role in WWE events in the past. One remarkable example is former UFC women's Bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey.

But amid this GSP special appearance in WWE talks, a more serious issue is still hitting the MMA atmosphere. Former UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov was reportedly opting for a huge fight against St-Pierre.

Just over a week ago, NAC executive director Bob Bennett confirmed that the suspension of Khabib and his camp had been reduced by 35 days. Due to this big turnaround, Khabib's UFC comeback is now very close to reality as he is currently set to fight Dustin Poirier in a unification bout in September.

Even though the UFC already arranged a fight for Khabib, the Russian fighter seems to be very thirsty for a St-Pierre match. According to Khabib's manager Ali Abdelaziz, their team is still hoping to make the St-Pierre fight possible by the of this year.

ESPN's Brett Okamoto has summed up the statement from Khabib's team, explaining that his manager confirmed that they are "close" to sealing the deal.

Regardless of the WWE and Khabib outcome, MMA fans around the world are surely anticipating a GSP comeback. St-Pierre was last seen inside the octagon when he viciously submitted the former UFC Middleweight champion Michael Bisping in November 2017 to become a UFC two-division champion.
